Study Abroad- Dublin {Day 1}

4:40 PM

We boarded a flight at 8 am from Edinburgh to Dublin. When we arrived in Dublin, Mack and I parted ways for her to head home and me to find my study abroad group. Definitely a sad moment and a realization that our 2 week vacation was over. But so many amazing sights seen, memories made that I'll remember forever.

I met up with my study abroad group and we waited in the airport till about noon when everyone arrived. Cameron is my roommate and we have been texting since we found out we were paired together. So it feels like I have known her for longer than we have! She is from Missouri and goes to school at Missouri State and we already have a ton in common. Everyone else is really cool, there's 14 of us total, all girls. There's definitely a variety of girls, quite a few midwest girls and a lot from the east coast too. There are only 2 girls that knew each other previously, they're from the same home town and college. Everyone else knows no one so was in the same boat about wanting to get to know all the girls.

Once leaving the airport, we made our way to our hostel to drop off our luggage and hit the city. We walked to Trinity College to see the Book of Kells and then went to Guinness (round 2 for me!!) where I got my perfect pint pouring certificate which we didn't do the first time.

After that, we made our way to dinner at a restaurant called Farm. We had a 3 course meal which was included in our trip and probably one of the most expensive meals I've ever eaten lol. But it was so dang good.

Once dinner was over, we made our way back to our hostel. (Definitely an interesting experience to say the least lol). Somehow cameron and I managed to get our own room with 2 bunk beds and a bathroom so we each got a bottom bunk which was nice. All of the rest of the girls were in one room with one bathroom. Not sure how we did that, but we were both happy with it!  We stayed up and talked for an hour or two before we decided to go to bed. Talking for a while just confirmed we are really similar and makes knowing no one in a foreign place so much easier.

The next morning, we are headed to Galway which will be home for the next 4 and a half weeks! I am so excited to see the country and our program directors said that if we thought Dublin was cool, just wait till we get to Galway. We have a full day planned again to prepare for classes that start Wednesday. And we get into our apartments today (can't wait to actually unpack!!)
