Dublin {Day 1}
4:53 PM
Yesterday was officially our first day in Europe. After landing at 5am Dublin time, we made our way to the flat we were staying at to drop off our luggage before exploring the city. We were both running on no sleep but we only had less than 24 hours in Dublin so did not want to waste any time! On our way to the city we stopped at the cutest cafe and then head to the bus station.
Once we got on the bus, we were not exactly sure what what stop we needed to get off on. But after realizing we were close based on our maps, we decided to hop off and start walking. Little did we know that we were on our way to the brewing facility, not the touring storehouse (whoops!). So after some time walking around the city, we finally made it.
We went through the tour of Guinness which was very cool. It was self guided which was nice. We spent most of our time in the tasting room and on the gravity bar floor overlooking the city. We managed to kill some time there before heading back on another bus to get to a dessert shop that was recommended to us. It was called 'Sweet Rebublic'.
We weren't able to actually check in to our flat until 5pm that evening so once we had our icecream we decided to go ahead and get on the bus back to the city. It took us quite a while to find the correct stop even after looking online and finding the route we needed to take, all of the bus stops didn't have the bus number we were looking for. But after some time, we finally found one that would work.
So we hopped on and rode for about 30 minutes before realizing we missed our stop (whoops haha), we figured the bus would turn around at some point to make the round the other way. Well we were wrong, and at the last stop we had to get off. But we were able to get on another bus going back the other direction and managed to make it back to our flat. We were just trying to check out the scenic route ;). It actually was very interested to see the different parts of Dublin though because the bus went from the heart of the city all the way past the airport to more residential areas.
After that we went back to our flat and fell asleep. After not sleeping for 30 hours, we managed to each get 8 or so hours of sleep before getting up at 3am to catch our flight to Berlin!
