London- Studham {Day 1}
4:15 PM
We flew into Luton airport this morning and arrived at 7am local time (we are now only 6 hours ahead of KC). The flight was literally only 45 minutes and close to empty. We each had a row of seats to ourself. It was crazy! Once we arrived we hung out in the airport for a while until we were able to check into our place. It was about 12:30 when we were able to leave the airport to head to our place for the next couple of nights. We decided to uber here because the public transportation was going to take us a lot of time and we were ready for some sleep. While the ride wasn't very long, our uber driver had a lot of questions about us, he said with our accents he thought we were from London lol. We could barely understand what he was saying except for the f-bomb every couple of sentences haha.
Once we made it to our place, the owners of the home greeted us in the driveway. They are seriously the sweetest couple, showing us all around the annex which is where we are staying and the gardens which we are able to use. Their names are Eve and David and their house is right next door. They made sure to tell us to ring their door if we need anything at all. Eve had the annex stocked with water, sprite, strawberries, cupcakes, cereals, toasts, milk, coffee tea and orange juice for the morning. Seriously so dang sweet of them. They also said they would love to have a glass of wine with us in the garden, so we plan on doing that tomorrow. David also made sure to ask us to contact our parents to let them know we arrived safely! Just look at the garden 😍
After taking a nap to get a little bit of sleep we missed out on last night, we planned to go to the grocery store to get something for dinner and some wine for tomorrow night. Its only about 3 miles away but no uber would come get us, so we opted for dominos delivery instead haha. We are kind of in the middle of nowhere (its just a lot of little village towns) so it wasn't a complete shock that there were no ubers around. As for public transportation, the bus only runs from here two times a day.
Our plan for tomorrow is to head into London city for a double decker tour around it to see all the major landmarks. While it is pricey to get into the city, and definitely our most expensive city yet, we don't want to miss out on seeing everything because of the cost. Who knows when we will be back here? So tomorrow will be an early morning to make sure we make the most of our day in London. And we are both excited to hang out with Eve and David as well!
